ASICFPGA ISP evaluation boards now run on PetaLinux.

ASICFPGA has announced that its ISP evaluation boards now run on PetaLinux (embedded Linux). The evaluation boards released on Oct. 07, 2024 were designed as bare-metal systems. The new evaluation boards use the AMD/Xilinx Kria KV260 Vision AI Starter Kit with the ASICFPGA IMX678 sensor module, and the camera, the ISP core and the display are controlled through standard Linux drivers. Customers can now develop their own applications on Linux and evaluate the ISP core with standard Linux video tools.

Features of the PetaLinux evaluation boards:

• PetaLinux on AMD/Xilinx Kria KV260 Vision AI Starter Kit
• Linux V4L2 drivers for the Sony IMX678 sensor and the ISP core, standard media pipeline and GStreamer
• Live video to a DisplayPort monitor
• Uncompressed video streaming over Ethernet to a PC for image quality analysis
• ISP register tuning from the PC tool while the live video is running
• Remote access over SSH
